The Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet is an outdoor discount mall in the city of Lelystad about 60km drive north-east of Amsterdam. It is quite similar in set-up to the larger Designer Outlet Roermond which is located further away in the south of the Netherlands.
There is also Amsterdam The Style Outlets located at Halfweg-Zwanenburg, a few km west from Amsterdam.
Opened in 2001, the Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet was the country’s first outlet complex and today contains around 150 shops from local and international brands. Expect discounts of around 30% off standard retail prices and up to 70% for limited special offers.

Do remember that high street Dutch prices for clothes are often higher than in the UK, US and other markets – so you might find prices a little on the high side for an outlet.

Designer outlet malls normally sell last season/end-of-line items; you should be aware that some retailers do manufacture special (and cheaper) lines just for outlets.

Batavia Stad brands include the likes of Adidas, Ajax Fan Shop, Calvin Klein, Desigual, Diesel, G-Star, Gant, Guess, Hugo Boss, Jack & Jones, Lacoste, Levi’s, Marlies Dekkers, Messi, Michael Kors, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Puma, Samsonite, Superdry, The North Face, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour and so on.

As with many outlets, the primary focus is on clothes, shoes and sportswear; you will also find home and kitchenware stores from Home & Cook, Iittala, Krups, Le Creuset, The Healthy Kitchen, Rowenta, RÖSLE, TEFAL, Villeroy & Boch and WMF.
The outlet site has various cafés/fast-food joints including a spacious La Place self-service restaurant which has water views.

Fashion Club is the outlet’s loyalty program with 5% cashback and various perks on offer.
Non-EU visitors can get VAT refunds on purchases over €50 when leaving the EU within 21 days. Tax refunds can be done at the outlet’s Information Centre which also has a left-luggage facility.
Free WiFi is available using the “Free WiFi Batavia Stad” network.
The Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet mall is open 10:00-20:00 daily.
There is a large car-park on-site (P1-P5) at a daily rate of €4.50. You can book a rental car with Discover Cars here which checks all the main rental firms.
