Amsterdam’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Amsterdam Central opened in 2011 and is located next door to central station. SkyLounge is its stylish lounge bar/restaurant with rooftop terrace which has excellent views over the centre of Amsterdam and the waterfront area. Note, SkyLounge is currently closed and undergoing a refurbishment – it is due to re-open in June 2023.
With a height of 43m, the Amsterdam DoubleTree Hilton hotel has a striking design and a great location on Oosterdok, a recent waterfront development in the city.

The Amsterdam SkyLounge is open to the public and can be found on the 11th floor, accessible by lift from the hotel lobby area. It has a large lounge space with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, near 360° views, a variety of designer chairs and sofa seating, plenty of tables and a chilled ambience.

There is a small terrace on the eastern side and a larger roof terrace at the other end – which has superb views of the IJ waterfront side (including the A’DAM Toren building) and also a sweeping vista of Amsterdam from Sloterdijk out to the west to Amstel in the south east.
Good views are also seen of the St Nicolaaskerk church just across the water.

Now the SkyLounge is not particularly cheap – we found coffee at €8 a pop a little bit on the expensive side. However one refill is included and you get the view. The bar also serves a wide selection of alcoholic drinks including cocktails.
The restaurant offers an all day menu, snack plates, sandwiches and sushi.
Due to its unique location and fabulous views we do recommend heading up to the SkyLounge for a visit.
