This is a review of the NS International – Regus Express Lounge at Amsterdam Centraal station for international rail passengers. 1st class tickets can be booked at the Trainline site here or at the NS International site
The NS International Lounge is located on platform 2a at the western end of the station.
To reach the lounge you need to be within the departures side – that means inside the station beyond the gate barriers. Simply scan your ticket at the barriers to go through.
To get to the lounge entrance you can take stairs/escalators/lifts from the various station tunnels up to platform 2 and head to the 2a side.
Alternatively if you are outside the station on the city side you could also go up the external steps near platforms 1/2, turn right to go through the barriers and walk beyond the Kiosk outlet.

The location is generally very convenient for departing ICE/Eurostar (Thalys) passengers – however the UK terminal for Eurostar passengers to London is a bit of a walk away.
Inside the lounge, there is a reception desk just after the entrance on the right-hand side where a staff member will check your access rights.

This is a compact, rectangular-shaped lounge with the signature low-sitting red sofas and 3 single chairs.
In addition there is:
- 1 worktable with 6 chairs and plenty of power outlets
- 1 reading table with 6 chairs and power outlets/USB ports
- 2 semi-private white ‘thinkpod’ desks
- Free WiFi
Some magazine titles are available including I Amsterdam Magazine and a free city map can also be picked up.

The lounge has a full seating capacity of 28.
On the backside there is a media wall with TV screens and some artwork frames.

The lounge offers hot drinks with a self-service WMF coffee machine. A fridge stocks a basic selection of soft drinks – note that lounge access offers only one free soft drink. Beer and wine is offered for sale.

As is common with rail lounges there is no food offering here. However you will find a number of food outlets in the station tunnel under the platforms.
The only natural light comes from the large windows overlooking platform 2.

The lounge has a toilet just past the reception desk. Note, there are no shower facilities.
Meeting Rooms
A number of meeting rooms are available for hire if more privacy is needed. These have seating capacity of 4-8 people and are found upstairs.

There is also a work desk which looks a little bit cramped but would be fine for a solo traveller.

In summary, the NS International Lounge is a pleasant enough place to grab a hot drink and wait for an international train. It is also convenient for business travellers who need to work or hold a meeting.
