Good quality 5-star rated hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam - roughly half-way between Dam Square and Waterlooplein. Rooms are large and comfortable. CitizenM Amsterdam City
This hotel is located very close (5 minutes walk) to Amsterdam Zuid station - one stop from Schiphol airport by train, a €2.60 ride - in an upmarket residential area. The very small rectangular shaped rooms are modern and stylish and free wifi internet is available throughout the property. There is a bar/lounge which sells drinks and light snacks.

The Toren
If you want something a bit different to the chain hotels try the Toren - a small boutique hotel (38 rooms) on the Keizersgracht canal - not far from Westerkerk and Dam Square.
