Having a free internet connection at your hotel is becoming an important consideration for many travellers, especially when on business. Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam
Good quality 4-star rated hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam - roughly half-way between Dam Square and Waterlooplein. Rooms are large and comfortable. As with all Radisson Blu hotels there is free high-speed wireless and cable internet. The hotel has a number of meeting and conference rooms also with free WiFi access for delegates. Opened in 2011, this property (formerly called Mint Hotel) is next door to Amsterdam central station making it extremely convenient for arriving travellers. Large property with 553 rooms, each having an Apple iMac TV and computer. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout. Hotel De L'Europe Amsterdam
Luxurious 5-star hotel located right in the centre of town just off Muntplein. Elegant rooms come with free WiFi, iPad and Nespresso coffee machine. Marble bathrooms with heated floor and mirror TV. Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam
The Mövenpick is a high rise hotel located on the banks of the river IJ, part of the regenerated waterfront area. Next door lies the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (for cruise ships) and the Muziekgebouw/Bimhuis theatre venues. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Amsterdam central station or hop on trams 25 or 26 which stop close by. The rooms are modern and elegant with superb views of the city. Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam South
This budget hotel opened in 2012. Located around 1km south from Amsterdam Zuid station it offers spacious rooms, free WiFi and a complimentary continental breakfast. Convenient for visitors to the Zuidas business district and Amsterdam RAI convention center. Trains to Schiphol take 7 minutes to Zuid. Tram/metro stop and supermarket close to the hotel. CitizenM Amsterdam City
This hotel is also located very close (5 minutes walk) to Amsterdam Zuid station - one stop from Schiphol airport by train - in an upmarket residential area. The very small rectangular shaped rooms are modern and stylish and free WiFi internet is available throughout the property. There is a bar/lounge which sells drinks and light snacks.

The Toren
If you want something a bit different to the chain hotels try the Toren - a small boutique hotel (38 rooms) on the Keizersgracht canal - not far from Westerkerk and Dam Square. Each room is unique and stylishly decorated but comes with modern facilities - flat screen tv, free internet, Nespresso coffee machine and ipod docking station. Probably the best Schiphol airport hotel just off the A9 motorway in a quiet location. Free shuttle bus transfers (both ways) are available. Good sized, well-equipped rooms with free ISDN cabled internet. Club floor rooms come with some extras. The hotel has extensive meeting room facilities which makes it an excellent choice for doing business near the airport or meeting clients. The hotel is due to be rebranded as a Steigenberger in 2013. Chic & Basic
Quirky small hotel (25 rooms) on the Herengracht canal in the picturesque Jordaan area, not too far from Central station. Part of a small Spanish concept hotel chain. Rooms are clean, small and basic with free WiFi internet. Complimentary gourmet coffee is available in the lounge room.
