Amsterdam is generally not that cheap when it comes to decent hotels - with normal prices easily in the €100 - €200 range and five star hotels some of the world's most expensive. With that in mind, here are a few quality hotel options that you can often find for less than €100. You can also check out the booking search engine at the bottom of the page for a wider listing.
CitizenM Amsterdam Airport - Futuristic and highly rated pod-style hotel which is 5 minutes walk from the terminal building at Schiphol airport. Small, well-equipped rooms can be found from €80. Free internet (wifi and iMac terminals), mood lighting, lounge/lobby area with designer furniture and bar. Good for early flights or very short stays. Amsterdam can be reached in 15 minutes by train from Schiphol. Check our Citizen M Review. You can book the CitizenM Amsterdam Schiphol here

CitizenM Amsterdam City - A second CitizenM hotel is located near Amsterdam Zuid station on Prinses Irenestraat - not far from Amsterdam RAI convention center. CitizenM hi-tech hotels attract a modern crowd, rooms are small and can be intimate with both shower and toilet in the middle. Probably more suited for younger couples and single travellers. The surrounding neighbourhood is residential and offices but the city centre can be easily reached on tram 5. Prices from around €80, you can book CitizenM Amsterdam City here
Hotel V Frederiksplein - Relatively new and 'hip' independent hotel with (smallish) doubles from around €80-€110 which always includes continental breakfast and free wifi. Located on Weteringschans (tram 4) - just south of the centre near Utrechtsestraat and the De Pijp district but within easy walking distance of Amsterdam's main attractions. Hotel V has a sister hotel (Hotel Victorie) which is in the Rivierenbuurt (New South) area not far from Amstel station, also accessible on tram 4. You can book Hotel V here
![]() | Hotel Aalders - Located in a quiet street (Jan Luykenstraat) in the heart of the museum quarter and a short walk from Vondelpark and Leidseplein. Comfortable family-run 3-star hotel with only 28 rooms. Breakfast is included and free internet is available (both wifi and a PC in the lobby). The house is a fine example of early 20th century Amsterdam architecture and retains many charming features. Rooms can be found for under €100 if booking in advance. You can book Hotel Aalders here |
Hotel Zandbergen - Another quiet and small family-run hotel - the popular Zandbergen is located on Willemsparkweg (tram 2 runs here) just a stonesthrow from Vondelpark and close to the museum quarter. The 18 rooms are all tastefully decorated and stays include continental breakfast and free wifi internet. Smaller rooms start at around the €100 mark - there is a family room with large balcony and also a penthouse roof appartment which are both great in the summer. You can book the Zandbergen here
Nadia Hotel - Located on Raadhuisstraat close to Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House and a quick walk to Dam Square area. The Nadia has 48 compact rooms, basic (Dutch-style) breakfast is included and free Internet available. Note, like many Amsterdam properties it has a very steep staircase with no lift!
