Bagels & Beans Cafes in Amsterdam
Bagels & Beans is a small chain of franchised cafes in Amsterdam (and Netherlands) which is a great place to hang out and have a light, cheap meal. They serve tasty bagels, fresh juices and excellent fair trade coffee. They also have free WiFi available in some stores. |
Bagel meals are priced from €3 to €6 - you can choose between various types of bagels, a selection of cream cheeses, and different toppings (meat, fish and vegetarian).
Our favourite is the bagel tapas for 2 people (pictured below left, €5.95 per person) - you get 2 bagels with sundried tomato/pesto flavour creamcheese, guacamole, parma ham, green and black olive tapenade, hummus and sundried tomatoes.

During our visits we have found the staff friendly and well trained and the food and beverages to be of high quality. The menu is in both Dutch and English, take-away is possible. The company seems to have a sense of humour - particularly with the strange opening times! It is highly recommended.
