There are a number of hotel options around Amsterdam Schiphol airport. They are recommended if you have an early flight or transfer at Schiphol or if you are making a very short trip to Amsterdam. If you plan to stay longer in Amsterdam then you should book a hotel in or nearer the city centre itself.

Hotels at the airport itself
There are a few hotels located at the airport - at the terminal itself (beyond passport control) are the small Mercure Terminal Hotel and Yotel - they are only really suitable for transfer passengers.
There are 3 hotels within walking distance of the airport station.
Citizen M Amsterdam Airport - This is an excellent budget choice, a design hotel with small but modern rooms and free Wi-Fi. Located just 5-10 minutes away by covered walkway. Read our CitizenM Amsterdam Airport Review.
Sheraton Schiphol Airport - This is a very convenient hotel just a short walk from the airport station exit. Large and comfortable rooms, atrium bar. The higher room prices do reflect the hotel location.
Hilton Schiphol Airport - 5-10 minutes covered walk, free shuttle bus also available. This Hilton is a little dated and the rooms are on the small side, but the service is good. Like the Sheraton, prices on the high side reflect the proximity to the airport.
Hotels in the area around the airport
There are a number of modern and comfortable hotels within a few kilometres of the airport and you can often find good deals available which are certainly cheaper than the Sheraton and Hilton. Some things to watch out for: Free shuttle buses run from the airport to most hotels - a few will charge for the return journey. Taxis can also charge you a hefty €30 for the short journey. And some of the hotels can feel a little isolated from both the airport and the city.
Dorint Hotel Schiphol - An excellent choice, large, modern rooms, free shuttle bus to and from the airport, free cabled internet, spa facilities, good restaurant.
Holiday Inn Express Schiphol - Newly opened in 2011, this budget hotel provides good value with free continental breakfast and rates below €100 if booked in advance. Close to Hoofdorp train station - 5 minute trip to Schiphol, one way fare just €2.
Crowne Plaza Schiphol Airport - Modern hotel with good swimming pool. Not too far from Hoofdorp train station.
Radisson Blu Schiphol Hotel - Decent standard hotel with free Wi-Fi. Good breakfast.
NH Schiphol - Basic 3 star hotel, good value for advanced bookings. Within walking distance of a public bus stop which is cheaper than the shuttle.
Novotel Amsterdam Airport - Well-appointed rooms, nice swimming pool. Try to get breakfast included in your rate.
