Queen’s Day is coming soon to Amsterdam and the Netherlands. This is a national holiday and massive street party with concerts, markets and other activities to celebrate the Queen’s birthday (actually the Queen mother’s birthday, as the current Queen Beatrix has a birthday in cold January!) Everyone should experience Queen’s Day in Amsterdam at least once in their life. The Dutch become crazy decked out in the colour orange (oranjegekte).
