Metz M’Café - View of Amsterdam Centre
Metz & CO is a high-end department store situated on the corner of Leidsestraat and the Keizersgracht canal in Amsterdam. On the sixth floor Metz has quite a chic cafe / restaurant which gives some excellent panoramic views over central Amsterdam. |
The building was originally owned by New York Life Insurance Company - the Metz & CO store has been located here since 1890. You can see the large windows of the top-floor cafe (photo, below left) which is accessible by lift.
The M’Café & restaurant is open Monday to Saturday until 6pm and Sundays until 5pm. It serves drinks and cakes plus sandwiches and mains. It's by no means the cheapest cafe in Amsterdam but well worth a visit for the views and pleasant ambience.
