Metz Cafe - One of Amsterdam's Best Views

 

Metz & Co is a department store situated on the corner of Leidsestraat and the Keizersgracht canal. While the store itself is quite 'high end' and expensive there is a modern cafe on the sixth floor which is well worth a visit as it gives some excellent views over all sides of Amsterdam.

The building (pictured below) was originally owned by New York Life Insurance Company but Metz has been here since 1890. You can see the large windows of the cafe on the top floor.

The cafe is open Monday to Saturday until 6pm and serves drinks, sandwiches and cakes. Not a bad place to spend an hour enjoying the view...
