Amsterdam has many excellent resaurants, cafes and bars to suit every budget and taste. The traditional Dutch eetcafe will offer reasonably priced fare with a menu based on meat, potatoes and vegetables with some additional influences from Mediterranean and Indonesian cuisine. Try to avoid the more tacky tourist places around the major squares.
